What started as a mid-week Wednesday fitness class at my corporate gym transformed my life in fitness, physical and mental health.

Julian is amongst a handful of coaches I can call a true pioneer, coach and inspirational leader, but the only one I can also call a dear friend. I have been attending Julian’s classes since 2011 and what started as a mid-week Wednesday fitness class at my corporate gym transformed my life in fitness, physical and mental health. There isn’t just one thing or class Julian does very well, rather an increasing and ever enhancing range of classes he commits himself to delivering for his followers.

Within each class there is a theme of connection between the mind and the body where he invites you to explore and look inward. It is from this platform that he helps hone vitality and wellbeing. Whether it be a spin class where he taps into your mental and physical endurance to unleash the very best within you, a mobility class where he meets you and your body where it’s at and allows you to go inward to search for what it needs or a conditioning class that motivates you to nurture your mind and body for whatever personal goals you have in fitness, Julian seems to strike the right balance and rhythm for every occasion.

After over a decade of attending Julian’s classes there are a few words that come to mind in describing him as a person and what he brings to the range of classes he offers – dedication, cultivation and balance.

There is clear evidence to his evolving and ever enhancing range of classes that speaks to his dedication to pursue a deep understanding of his craft and the diverse groups of people to which he serves. It is this dedication that is truly inspiring in each and every interaction we share.

Beyond his dedication to deep understanding, Julian cultivates and nurtures the environments in which he inhabits. Sustainability is a common theme in his practice and as a result this is what has allowed my life in fitness to be one in which I can sustain. I am eternally grateful for this.

Finally, there is balance. Julian strikes equilibrium when it comes to pushing you beyond what you thought were your limits and meeting you at your ability level. What the future has for Julian and his practices and services holds no bounds as he can bring balance and equilibrium to the changing demands of the mind and body.

Where do I start! I can pen down a ten-pager preaching Julian’s style of teaching but I will keep it short. Julian has not only elevated my physical strength but has also changed (and I am consciously choosing to use the word “change”) my mental mindset for the better. Some of Julian’s strengths -

1. He designs training programs based on your needs - other trainers do that too but BUT Julian takes it a notch further by understanding your motivators, your strengths, areas of improvement, your state, your physiology, your menstrual cycle, etc., the list goes on. It is incredible how he does that ⚡️

2. He is disciplined which makes you want to elevate your lifestyle to a gold standard, which I find very motivating 💛

3. He follows a coach-coachee partnership; he will always tell you that “we are in this together” and that is POWERFUL (trust me) 🌟

Overall, I cannot recommend Julian enough, he has a massive impact on my well-being and I contribute a lot of healthy changes in my life to him & his practice.

Since working with Julian, my fitness journey has reached new heights both physically and mentally. Previously, I solely participated in group fitness activities without seeing significant results. However, Julian’s guidance and training have completely transformed my approach to fitness and health.

Under Julian’s supervision, I have accomplished remarkable feats, such as completing a 5K run and a full marathon of 42 kilometers. Currently, I am actively training for another marathon alongside Julian’s expert coaching.

Julian was recommended to us by a physiotherapist and we started working with him online during Covid. Having had experience with several trainers, Julian is by far the best we’ve had. As older clients, we have appreciated his focus on keeping us fit and mobile, including getting up and down from the floor. He knows when to accept where we are and when to give us a gentle push to be doing more e.g. encouraging a good aerobic workout in between sessions in addition to the daily walking we already do. Julian goes above and beyond, including providing a videos to demonstrate exercises for in-between sessions. The sessions themselves are well planned with an excellent balance of stretching and strength training. As an extra bonus,
he brings a really broad wellness approach including practices like Qigong which have been really helpful. We feel lucky to have Julian as a resource and are happy to endorse him.
